dude, ok so, I think I figured out where the word gringo comes from. Jalapeno's turn red if you let them hang out on the plant a little longer right? Well they're probably picked early for us white boys cause the Mexicans knew we wouldn't be able to handle the spiciness of a fully ripened jalapeno. they called us Green Jalapeno for a while (making fun of how pussy we are) but then it lazily turned into gringo. Say Green Jalapeno ten times really fast and you'll see what I mean
